Business Travel Requirements for an Angola Visa for Irish Citizens

  1. Overseas Processing

    There is no Embassy representation for this destination in Ireland. All applications are processed abroad using our CIBTvisas office in England. Overseas courier fees of €75.00 + VAT per order apply in addition to the fees listed
  2. Passport

    The applicant's actual signed passport. The passport must:

    • Have at least four consecutive blank visa pages. All pages must be consecutive and opposite each other
    • Be valid six months beyond entry date
  3. Photograph

    You must provide a photograph. Upload your photo and we will print it to the exact specifications required for this visa. Follow https://cibtvisas.ie/photo-service to upload your photo.


    Alternatively, you may provide two colour, passport type photographs that meet the following strict criteria: be taken within the last three months against a white background and printed on high quality photo paper; be 35mm by 45mm in size; provide the full frontal view of your head with your face centered in the middle and displaying a neutral (non-smiling) expression. You may wear neither spectacles nor headwear except for religious purposes. Your photographs should not be affixed to your application and may not display evidence of adhesive or staples.

  4. Business Introduction Letter

    You must provide a Business Introduction Letter from the applicant's Irish employer. Be certain your letter meets the specific requirements of the consulate by using our Digital Business Introduction Letter. Visit https://cibtvisas.ie/bcl-order to get started.

    Alternatively, please use the sample Business Introduction Letter provided at https://cibtvisas.ie/forms?formname=Business%20Introduction%20Letter%20Sample.pdf using the exact language and format provided in order to prevent a rejection and possible delays with your visa request. 

    Note that most consulates require the Business Cover Letter to be dated within one month of application submission.

    In addition to the language provided in the sample, your Business Introduction Letter must:
    • Be addressed to "The Consular Section of the Embassy of Angola, 46 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP"
  5. Letter of Invitation

    A letter of invitation from the company the applicant is visiting. A colour copy is acceptable. This letter must:

    • Be in Portuguese
    • Be on company letterhead paper
    • Include the full name of the applicant
    • Include the nationality of the applicant
    • Include the country of birth of the applicant
    • Include the date of birth of the applicant
    • Include the passport number of the applicant
    • Include the date of issue of the passport
    • Include the date of expiry of the passport
    • Include the applicant's job title
    • Include the Employer's name
    • Explain the nature of the work project in Angola
    • Include the location of the work project
    • Include the objective of travel
    • Include the entry date to Angola
    • Include the exit date from Angola
    • Be issued within the last three months
    • Bear a stamp from Minpet if travelling for reasons associated with the oil industry

    To minimize the risk of refusal CIBTvisas recommends that the information in the invitation matches the content and order outlined above.

  6. Company Registration Information

    This must be provided as a copy of the Company Registration Certificate of a company based in Angola.
  7. Company Register Publication

    This must be provided as a copy of the Publication of the Angola Company register.
  8. Commercial License

    This must be provided as a copy of the Commercial License of a company based in Angola.
  9. Revenue Receipt

    This must be provided as a copy of the last DER Revenue Receipt of a company based in Angola.
  10. Proof of Address

    Evidence of Irish address. This must be shown as a colour copy of one of the following documents:

    • A recent council tax bill showing current Irish address issued within the last three months
    • A recent water bill showing current Irish address issued within the last three months
    • A recent gas bill showing current Irish address issued within the last three months
    • A recent electric bill showing current Irish address issued within the last three months
    • The applicant's full Irish driving license showing current Irish address
  11. Proof of Travel Arrangements

    This must be provided as a colour copy of the flight confirmation showing onward/return travel
  12. Yellow Fever Certificate

    One colour copy of yellow fever certificate

  13. Photocopy of Application Materials

    A high quality colour photocopy of every document provided including every page of the applicant's passport (other than empty pages)

  14. Visa Application Form

    One fully completed and signed application form. This form must:

    • Have no handwriting other than the signature and date
    • Provide answers for all question fields
    • Be printed in colour not in black and white 
    • Not be printed back to back
  15. CIBTvisas Order Confirmation

    Provide the CIBTvisas Order Confirmation included in this kit.

  16. Early Retrieval Of Passports

    In an emergency the Embassy may return the passport but the process will be summarily cancelled and the applicant will have to re-submit the complete visa application including the payment. To withdraw the passport the applicant must send the request by email to CIBTvisas. The passport will be returned to CIBTvisas within 48 hours.

  17. Express Processing

    The express service is available for urgent travel. Processing time only starts once a complete application has been received and submitted to the Embassy. Applications submitted on the express service are advised to include a paragraph in both the Business Introduction Letter and invitation explaining the nature of the emergency. Direct delivery or airport meet & greet services are available for applicants requiring their passports urgently. The express service is issued at the discretion of the High Commission and their decision will be final and cannot be contested by CIBTvisas

Tourist Travel Requirements for an Angola Visa for Irish Citizens

  1. Visa May Not Be Required

    Visa exempt for a stay of up to 90 days. The traveller must:

    • Not stay in the country for more than 30 days per entry
    • Hold a passport valid at least six months on entry with one blank visa page
    • Hold proof of sufficient funds
    • Hold proof of onward/return airline tickets
    • Hold documents showing proof of purpose of trip
    • Hold all documents required for the next destination
    • Confirm with their airline that boarding will be permitted without a visa as these conditions are subject to change

    For stays that exceed 30 days, a visa is required. The requirements can be found within the CIBTvisas application pack.

  5. Proof of Employment

    A letter from the applicant's employer confirming employment. This letter must:

    • Be on company letterhead paper
    • Include the name of the applicant
    • Confirm that the applicant is an employee of the company
    • Specify the purpose of journey
    • State the applicant's expected return to work date
    • Be typed and signed in the original by the applicant's supervisor or their HR department

  6. Proof of Address

    Evidence of Irish address. This must be shown as a colour copy of one of the following documents:

    • A recent council tax bill showing current Irish address issued within the last three months
    • A recent water bill showing current Irish address issued within the last three months

    • A recent electric bill showing current Irish address issued within the last three months
    • The applicant's full Irish driving license showing current Irish address
  7. Personal Statement

    This must be addressed to the Consular Section of the Angolan Embassy in London requesting the visa and declaring the reason for applying   
  8. Proof of Financial Means

    This must be provided as a colour copy of the first page of the applicant's current non-online bank statement issued within the last two months and showing a minimum credit balance of USD 200.00 per day of stay

  9. Proof of Travel Arrangements

    Details of travel arrangements. These must be provided as:
    • A copy of the hotel confirmation
    • A colour copy of the flight confirmation showing onward/return travel
  10. Medical Certificate

    One colour copy of the applicant's Certificate of International Vaccines: main page with the applicant's data and page including vaccine against yellow fever
  11. Yellow Fever Certificate

    One colour copy of yellow fever certificate

  12. Photocopy of Application Materials

    Travellers staying with family or friends must provide a letter of invitation form the host. This letter must:

    • Be written in Portuguese
    • Include the applicant's full name, nationality, date and place of birth
    • Include the applicant's passport number and passport expiry date
    • Include the applicant's occupation
    • State the purpose of the stay
    • Include the inviting person's full name and address
    • Be signed

    If the host is not an Angolan citizen they must provide a copy of their passport identification pages and a copy of their residence permit or visa
